The sweep vehicle has just returned from checking the track. Therefore all cars are clear of the track and/or accounted for.

Car 802 - Rob Chapman has just put a call out over the PA here at the track asking for anyone with a front diff for a Pajero, to go and see him. It would appear that the CV problem is more severe that first thought.

Car 527 - John Cook and Dieter Allen broke a front right tie rod 15kms from the finish, stopped and with a bit of bush ingenuity have cable-tied and taped a socket bar over the broken tie rod to enable them to struggle to the finish line.

Car 527 - has just come over the top of the hill at Christie's and travelling slowly towards the finish line.

It has just been reported that Car 52 (Craig Trewhella), has fixed his steering problems and is travelling on the course just in front of the sweep vehicle.

Drivers are allowed 90 minutes to complete the section from Hyden to Smithy's. If their time exceeds 90 minutes, they will be classified as a non-finisher for the section.

Car 802 - Rob Chapman broke a front CV about half way back and consequently only had 2WD to finish the race. He will repair his vehicle overnight, and is looking forward to tomorrow's laps.
