7:39pm That is all from Hyden today.

This service will return tommorrow.

7:37pm We have been informed that todays results from the run in to Hyden will be for the section due to the red flagging of the return stage.

Tomorrow's sections will proceed as planned with Section 2 being 3 laps of Smithy's Place and a service break followed by three more laps.

Section 2 is planned to commence at 9:00am and then Section 3 at 2:30pm



4:10pm Unfortuately the return race has been red flag after about 24 cars had started due to an accident just after the end of the road section.

At this stage all we can report is that all the response services are on the scene and more details will be provide when we are able to.

The front running cars have returned to Smithy's and returned to the pits without being timed.

When we have more details they will be posted here.


4:08pm hi race fans
We are back from the Hyden Township and all set up at Smithy's Place

2:24pm Our roving reported has just returned from the impound area in Hyden with the following reports.

Matt and Doug Coleman (55) have a CV boot problem but reccon they will be able to do the return trip.

Chris Western and Stewy Bishop (462) - Chris said I'm having too much fun.

Beau Robinson and Roy Lukies (85) reported that everything is going OK.

Luke Erceg and Vicki Katsikidis (911) struggled with no second gear and had to stop and remove the entangled fence at one stage.

Ryan and Michael Taylor (24) reported that all was awsome.

Travis Milburn and Matthew Steele (25) are going to attempt the return journey even though the engine is knocking badly and smoking.

Colin Hunter (801) was enjoying a sandwich and drink and report that all was well.

Damian Penfold and Jarrad Eveleigh (301) said things were OK but were worried about a noisy gearbox.

Matthew and Mathew Martin (121) rolled at about the 10km mark from the start. They landed back on their wheels and kept going. Matt senior is blaming the navigator for callling the corner wrong.

Darren and Chloe Russell (525) reported they have no brakes and Chloe said do we really need them.

2:15pm John House and Blake Pugh (553) have completed

1:54pm Darren and Chloe Russell (525) have finished.

1:53pm Trevor and Jane Spencer (870) have a ruptured fuel tank in the Hyden impound area.

1:52pm Jason Galea and Sarah Davies (766) have finised.
Joe Hawkins and Brendon Hayto (229) have finished.

1:47pm Brett Young and Michelle Bairstow (715) have finised just in front of Hugh Piercy and Kiera Mann-Piercy (415)

1:46pm Trevor and Jane Spencer (870) have just finished section 1 at Hyden.

Robert Chapman and Ross Challacombe (803) have finised as has Trent Gravestock and Matthew Neison (233)

1:43pm David Fong followed by Peter Kozak then Troy Schoen have finished

1:42pm 97 Keith Rance has crossed the line with a lot of oil smoke coming from the car

1:41pm 32 Ken Madeley has finished

1:40pm Like Erceg 911 has just crossed the line after stuggling all section with no second gear

1:40pm 52 Adam Trewhella has just walked in and reported they have broken a axle just short of the finish line

1:36pm 301 Damien Penfold from Singleton has just finished followed by 269 Daniel Allen

1:35pm 121 Matt and Mat Martin have just finished

1:34pm Clayton Chapman 703 has completed this section

1:32pm 98 Craig Wells has completed

1:28pm Dave Perival 219 has completed followed by Werner and Sue Zettle

1:27pm Andrew Mowles in 102 from Alice Springs has completed the course

1:26pm Wayne and Steven Sanderson from Alice Spings in the ex Kittle car have finished
Next was Mark Murray in 866 then 833 Sandy Bowen

1:25pm Bradley Mudge has finished

1:24pm Colin Hunter 801 has finished closly followed by Greg Campbell in the Red Porsche

1:23pm Brian Uren from Wa has finished

1:21pm Chris Western has finished this section The Chev powered truck sounding sweet

1:19pm Travis Milburn has completed the section after repairing the RV2 due to the fire at the end of his prologue

1:17pm Glen Owen's problem is over heating and 834 Nicholas VanGeest is out with a broken panard rod

1:14pm Glen Owen in car 30 has returned to the pits after the second corner.. problem unknown at this stage

1:14pm Brad Prout has just crossed the line after changing the gearbox and missing the top 10 shoot out and starting tenth

1:12pm Buddy Crowe has completed the run to town sixth on the road
Next was Clayton Taylor

1:10pm Pinto in car 5 was next followed by Travis Robinson then Bruce Chapman

1:09pm Shannon Renstch has just completed the run into town with a time of 31:58.13 David Fellows was next with a time of 32:02.68


1:09pm We are back.....
All set up in the township of Hyden awaiting the arrival of the first cars.
The field start at 12:30pm as scheduled at Smithy's Place for the 48 km run into Hyden. It is expected to take the front running cars about 35 minutes.

11:49am Section 1 of the ARB Pinjarra Engineering 450 is due to start at 12:30.

We will be off the air for while we transport into Hyden.

11:48am Andrew Pinto and Jason Prior (5) had overhead problems during the top ten shoot out but hope to have fixed the problem and will be starting section 1.

James Madden and Craig Trewhella (81) spun out three time during prlogue but are looking forward to staying on the track in section 1.

11:45am Travis Milburn and Matthew Steele (25) have fixed their RV2 buggy after it caught fire in the pits at the end of the prlogue.

A loose fitting on the fuel regulator caused fuel to leak and made the fire marshall run. After replacing a few melted parts and borrowing an accelerator cable for the Rentschs and fuel hose from Brad Gallard the buggy crew are ready for section 1.

11:25am Brett Taylor and peter Treis (31) failed to finish the prologue due to a flat tyre.

Matthew and Mathew Martin (121) turned a corner too early in prologue and beached their buggy, needing to be towed out by recovery.

Keith Rance and Glenn Caporn (97) had problems with their drive shaft during prologue but will start section 1.

Locals Adam Greg and Naomi Goddard (282) suffered head gasket issues that has put them out of the event.

Davin Baxter and Gavin Radford (450) blew their engine.

Luke Erceg and Vicki Kaksikidis (911) are having problems with their buggy stuck in gear. They are hoping to fix to start section 1.

11:14am Brian Robinson (86) has been excluded from the event by the Stewards after failing a random breath test undertaking after competitor briefing this morning.

11:12am Shannon and Ian Rentsch (1) have just blitzed the top ten field here at the ARB Pinjarra Engineering Hyden 450 moving from third place in the prologue to be on poll position for today section 1. Rentsch took 22 seconds off his prologue time.

David Fellows and Andrew Kittle (2) in their new Peter Kittle Toyota Jimco knocked only 1 second off their first place prologue time to move to second place for the race.

Andrew Pinto and Jason Prior (5) took a huge 30 seconds off their prologue time to move from 7th place to third.

Travis Robinson and Paul Currie (4) went 14 seconds quicker to sit in 4th place for section 1.

Bruce Chapman and Peter Vial (58) finished 5th in the top ten 24 seconds quicker than prologue

Glenn Owen and Deon Beattie went 14 seconds quicker and are in 6th position for the race start ahead of fellow Victorians Matt and Sam Hanson (7).

Buddy and Kerry Crowe (4) were slightly faster than prologue and are off in position in front of Ryan and Michael Taylor (24).

Brad Prout (3) in his new Red Devil Jimco did not start the top ten as they are putting in a new gearbox.

Section 1 is schedule to start at 12:30. The cars leave Smithy's place and head to Hyden where they will go impound to be restarted after all cars have reached Hyden.

10:08am We apologise for the break in the typed commentary. We are running short on volunteers so please bare with us.

We are about to start the top ten shoot out at 10:15. I'll give you an update after that on who did what in the prologue.

7:27am Welcome one and all to the ARB Pinjarra Engineering Hyden 450.

Prologue is about to get underway in 5 five minutes. The weather here today is forcasted for 28 degrees and no rain, however, I can see dark clouds on the horizon.

We are down to 85 entries with a few withdrawals late in the week.

We will endeavour to keep you up to date as the day progresses.
