The MTQ Engine Systems is the next Round of the Australian Off Road Championship and will be held from the 23rd of July to the 25th at Griffith in New South Wales.

Update on the Dale Newbon #950 Rocka A Arm 1997 Single Seater Buggy, he blew a CV but had a spare in the buggy, he replace the broken CV and kept racing. That's three for thee for Tasmania.

Report from the pits, Buddy and Kerry Crowe #4 in the Runamuck Racing Jimco 2008 Champion have been recovered and back in the Alice Springs pits after their front wheel parted company with the Jimco. Proving that offroaders do have a sense of humour, the Crowes reported singing "It's a sad time to leave me loose wheel".

In a last ditched effort Dale Newbon #950 passed the Extreme 4WD of Shane Ogilvie #810 in the Ford 1989 Maverick just metres before the finish line.

Contary to earlier reports, Dale Newbon #950 in the Rocka A Arm 1997 Single Seater Buggy being the third of the Tasmanian contingent has crossed the finish line at Finke. He was reported out at the 25km with CV issues. He's obviously fixed and continued. We'll endeavour to have a chat with him and find out for the folks back in Tassie what happened.

Grant Ballantine and Richard Hawkins #384 in the Scorpion 1984 buggy have had a fight to the finish with Philip Smith #544 in the Holden 1984 Holden Ute, crossing the line nose to tail.

Rob Chapman and Ross Challacombe #802 in the Chapmans Off Road Racing Mitsubishi 1998 Pajero Wagon have been reported out of the event near Bundooma with a lack of wheels. The crew have been called and according to our source asked to take a big jack and welder.

Dean and Brad Miller #408 in the Toyota 2009 Hilux Itundra from Barooga had finished the long tortuous track to get to Alice Springs.
Local Lad Bill Yan #50 also made it home with no rear suspension and the front of the car pointing to the sky. They've driven like that from the 20km out mark.

Centralians Craig Meekings and Warren Dehne #217 in the Foot Flat Racing Hunter Rivmasta 1987 Buggy have made it home. The team had a hectic lead up to the event having to replace a gearbox that failed at the last club round.

The Jeff Nichols #172 Buggy has just limped across the line at about 10km an hour with unknow reasons. Will endeavour to find out.

Talking to Clayton Chapman and Adam McGuire #701 in the Chapmans Off Road Racing Mitsubishi 2009 Triton Ute on the finish line. They had no 4WD all the way home which made it hard to handle in the soft sand and they had a few offs, but are happy to have made it home".

Peter Stevenson and Steve Barrington #248 in the Havachat Off Road Racing Hunter Rivmasta 1992 Buggy from Portland Victoria have bought the Super 1650 home to finish the 2010 Tattersall's Finke Desert Race. Havachat's family and crew were here at Alice Springs cheering him over the finish line.

Nev Taylor and Hayley Hutton #6 in the Rockstar Team Taylor Jimco 2000 series buggy on talking to them at the finish line said they had a flat tyre early on and then no power steering. New has massive blisters on both his hands.

Scott Schiller #971 in the S&S Race Frames SS Race Frame 2008 Buggy said on arrival at Alice Springs:
"We had no troubles going down and no troubles coming back. We had a good run, it was just long, hard and dusty, but we're glad to finish."

Alan Gerardi and Rod Kay #109 in the Saber 2008 108 have croseed the finish line and said "it was extremely rought, I think I need a Chiro, it beat the hell out of my body but the good part is we got the car home and finished."

Glenn Owen and Deon Beattie #30 in the Jimco 2008 from Warrnambool in Victoria have finished the event after a drama pack day.
At about the 120km mark the car started to miss and pop and run really rough with lack of power. The crew stopped and got out to investigate. The oil cap had come off and filled the alternator and battery with oil and therefore the battery was not charging and supply current to run the fuel pump and electronics causing the car to stop.
They toook fuel from the fuel tank, wash the oil off, stuffed a piece of rag in for the oil cap and there was just enough juice left in the battery to start the Jimco and get it to the finish line.

Correction on Steven Jenstch and Brendan Foley #421, they did start the event and have just crossed the finish line.
Next to follow them in was Rob Cowie #192 in the Revtech Motorsport Jimco 1997 Single Seater who said he's had intermittent problems on the run home with the Jimco stopping all the time. Last time was 10km out from the finish line when he thought the battery would go flat as he tried to start the car. It kicked in and he drove to the finish line.

James Madden and Scott Dalby #81 in the Razorback Racing Razorback 2006 have put in a magnificant drive for the team who had CV issues on the start line yesterday morning putting them back in the field. They started todays race in 42 so have moved through the field substantially.
